![]() Rutlemania has brought superfans who sing along with lyrics such as "Revolution's in the air / I'm dancing in my underwear." Innes' CND medallion quietly but pointedly carries on Lennon's Give Peace a Chance campaign. At the Rutles' best, Fab Four and "Pre-Fab Four" become an interchangeable blur. Innes must have been steeped in the Fab Four to send them up this accurately and some of the songs – A Girl Like You or I Must Be in Love – are as good as the originals. ![]() Innes and Halsley haven't brought their Rutle moptops or costumes (they might struggle to get into them these days) but Lennon glasses, pig masks and "the Rutland symphony orchestra" (a bloke behind a keyboard) transform the packed venue into a parallel universe where the Rutles are "bigger than Rod".
